Hello, my name is Frederick J. (Fred) Vazquez and I am contemplating running for South Carolina's seat in the United States Senate currently held hostage by Lindsey Olin Graham. Up until 16 years ago I was an ardent Republican. Based on the Republican's strong conservative values, America was strong militarily, financially and morally. We were respected by all the world; by allies because of our dedication and by enemies because of their fear of our abilities and our resolve. I left the Republican Party and am now an Independent because there came a time when I did not believe there was enough difference between the Democrats and Republicans to make either one a party I was comfortable being affiliated with. I am an Independent Conservative because people like John McCain, Charlie Crist and the late Arlen Specter had diluted, polluted and bastardized the Republican Party. The Democrats and the Republicans have morphed into two heads on one snake.
At a time many years ago Lindsey Olin Graham (hereafter referred to as "The LOG") seemed like a good, Conservative Republican. He appeared to stand for what was right. He appeared to stand for what true conservative Americans stood for. That changed and I had to ask myself, "Why?"
The answer came in short order after listening to "the LOG's" speeches, looking at his voting record and comparing those actions to who was president at the time he was making those speeches, casting those votes, etc. I realized there was a strong corollary between who was president at the time and how "the LOG" voted. As you study "the LOG" you realize that he was "Red" when a Republican (George W. Bush) was in office but has been "blue" since the election of Barack H. Obama, but not blue like the rest of us have been.
"The LOG" has explained that he was supporting Pro-Abortion, Anti-2nd Amendment racist Sonia Sotomayor for the U.S. Supreme Court because "President Obama won the election and that has consequences. Since he won the election, I defer to his nomination for Supreme Court Justice." "The LOG" fails to realize that the people of South Carolina voted against Barack Obama and do not wish to "defer" to him.
He went on to say that confirming Sotomayor, who had 9 out of 10 decisions reversed by the very court she was looking to sit on would not change the ideology of the Supreme Court because it was replacing one liberal justice with another. He failed to realize that he represents a conservative state with conservative values who expect him to represent us conservatively. That includes opposing liberal nominees and liberal policies like Sonia Sotomayor, Elena Kagan, amnesty for illegals and bogus cap and trade bills, which hurt his constituents.
During the confirmations of Ultra-Liberal Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor in July 2009, "The LOG" had this to say to her: "I like you, by the way, for whatever that matters. Since I may vote for you that ought to matter to you. One thing that stood out about your record is that when you look at the 'Almanac of the Federal Judiciary' lawyers anonymously rate judges in terms of temperament. And here's what they said about you: 'She's a terror on the bench. She's temperamental and excitable. She seems angry. She's overly aggressive, not very judicial. She does not have a very good temperament. She abuses lawyers. She really lacks judicial temperament. She believes in an out of control -- she behaves in an out of control manner. She makes inappropriate outbursts. She's nasty to lawyers. She'll attack lawyers for making an argument she does not like. She can be a bit of a bully.'"
Yet, he went on to not only give her glowing reviews, but to indeed vote to confirm her to a lifetime position on the highest court in the Land. Why would he do things to hurt his constituents? It is because he does not consider us his constituents. In fact, "The LOG" feels there is no place for politicians who represent only a segment of a society, say, one state. He wants us to be one great big happy Moderate Party family.
I cannot disagree more.
Mick Mulvaney, who ran as a "Conservative Republican" in 2010 has voted to extent the anti-American citizen "PATRIOT ACT", which has absolutely NOTHING to do with patriotism or protecting Americans and he has voted to actually finance Alaska's "Bridge to Nowhere." Yet, he claimed during his campaign that he was going to do things differently in Washington, D.C.
Jim Clyburn has spent his entire career getting rich on the enslavement of his constituents. He promises big government money to his poorer people, not telling them that the funds they get in their mailbox the first of each month is a leash to keep them down and under control, rather than a way for them to better themselves. He makes it perfectly clear that they are not smart enough, not good enough and certainly not trustworthy enough to make their own way or to make their own decisions without total government control.
I am a Conservative, along the lines of Ronald Reagan. I am proud to be an Independent Evangelical minister. I am a strong supporter of the Second Amendment, since without the Second Amendment the other amendments would mean little to nothing. I am pro-America and pro-American. I support the return of all people who are in this country illegally to their nations of origin. I oppose all amnesty programs, although I believe if a foreign national is willing to invest six years serving in the United States military they should have priority status in becoming an American citizen. I believe English should be the official and only language of the United States government's use, like it was in the days when America was stronger.
I support shrinking the size of government, all levels of government by 5% per year until they are a manageable size. There is no reason the number of government workers in the United States should be larger than the number of factory workers here. I reject the philosophy that we as individuals are too inept to run our day to day lives without government intrusion. I reject the government's position that they must protect us from ourselves. God gave us common sense for that purpose, but the government has made it their goal to rid us of that common sense so that we will fall dependent upon them, thereby becoming enslaved to the government monstrosity. It has cost us $16 trillion in borrowed money to be placed in that position by “our” government.
I oppose NAFTA, CAFTA and all treaties that encourage the removal of jobs from American soil. I support a 50% tariff on all American and foreign products manufactured overseas if those goods can be manufactured within the United States. I support the withdrawal of the United States from the United Nations and I invite the UN to remove themselves from our soil. I support ending the income tax system and replacing it with a national sales tax of 15% for individuals and corporations alike. I oppose abortion under all circumstances because either our God made all life or He makes no life. God gives life and it is up to God to decide who lives. I oppose recognition of all "special" groups and the extension of special rights to them. This includes but is not limited to groups who self-identify by race, religion (atheism is itself a religion), gender, sexual preference or national origin. I support private individuals and private enterprises endeavoring to find better types of energy without government financing or tax credits and I support them keeping any profits enjoyed by the success of their ventures.
I do not believe in voting for bills I have not read completely and I promise I will abstain from voting on any bill which addresses more than one issue or is rushed through Congress. Would you want me to vote for a bill that involves both gun rights and gay marriage or would you rather see the two subjects addressed individually? Today, bills are allowed to have any number of unrelated subjects in them, as this is how both heads get the snake what it wants. This is how the government currently does business and it is unacceptable. The American citizenry should not and cannot be lied to, bullied or taken advantage of any longer. I support drug testing of all federal employees, including the president, vice-president and members of both houses of Congress.
I strongly support term limits and would spend no more than two terms (12 years) in Washington, D.C. If a person cannot make a positive change in 12 years or less, they do not need to be holding the job. After 12 years one is no longer serving Congress, but is infesting it instead. Please remember, my earnest promise is to maximize my stay in Washington, D.C. to two terms, if I decide to run. This is not negotiable. You will not have to vote me out or drag me away from Washington, D.C.
I do not believe someone should spend millions of dollars to earn a job that pays an annual salary of $174,000.00. I also do not believe members of Congress should have better health benefits than the average American citizen. These are among the issues I wish to address as your Congressman, if I decide to run. The pay and the benefits offered to members of Congress have got to be reduced. I desire to reduce their pay to $150,000.00. I would make this my pet project. I would let the public know who opposes personal responsibility in government by naming every member of both houses of Congress who opposed the changes I sponsor with regard to congressional pay.
I am in need of your support. I need to know if people are ready for a change in government. Our nation was first governed by average "every day" citizens who had a desire to see their fledgling nation succeed. They contributed their part and went back to their "every day" lives. There were no career politicians as we have today. I want to go back to the days when special interests and greedy career politicians did not run our country; the American citizens did. If you would like more information about me or you would like to give me your input on whether I should run on behalf of the constituents of the great State of South Carolina, please feel free to contact me by using the "CONTACT ME" button above or e-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org. It is time to get the snake out of Washington, D.C., regardless of which head they belong to. We can start by removing the LOG jam that is currently taking up the space needed by an efficient and dedicated senator.
